2025 Hyundai Tucson: What to Expect from the Refreshed Compact SUV – The Hyundai Tucson is one of the most popular small SUVs on the market because it looks good, has a roomy cabin, and comes with fuel-efficient engine choices. But this market has a lot of competition, so Hyundai isn’t sitting back and taking it easy. The Korean carmaker has shown off the 2025 Tucson for the European market. Some big chat hats are expected to be made for the US version. The 2025 Hyundai Tucson: what you need to know.
Design: Exterior and Interior
The 2025 Tucson doesn’t look very different from the current model from the outside, but some small changes make it look more polished and up-to-date. The daytime running lights have been made thinner and sharper and are now built into the front grille with a new design. The front bumper and skid plate have been changed to make the SUV stand out more. There are new headlights with a horizontal LED strip that links them and a new bumper and skid plate on the back.
The most noticeable changes can be seen inside the 2025 Tucson. The dashboard has been redone. It has a new curved display with two 12.3-inch screens for the infotainment system and instrument panel. The screen has very thin edges and looks sleek and modern. The centre panel has also been changed. It now has a wireless charging pad, cup holders, and buttons that do different things. It has been moved from the console to a stick on the steering column, which makes more room in the console.
Setting the temperature with real buttons is one of the best changes to the inside. Touch-sensitive functions are hard to use and often go wrong on the current Tucson. There are buttons and rotating knobs with built-in screens on the new Tucson that let you change the temperature and other settings. For the sound system, there is also a volume knob and a setting knob. These are much easier to use than touch buttons.
High-quality materials are also used on the inside of the 2025 Tucson. For example, the dashboard and door panels are stitched, and the seats are ventilated. The cabin looks fancier and more high-end and has many comfort and ease of use features.
Powertrain
Hyundai hasn’t said what powertrains will be available in the 2025 Tucson yet, but they’ll be similar to what’s available in the current model. The hybrid will have 226 horsepower and 258 pound-feet of torque, and the plug-in hybrid will have 261 horsepower and 258 pound-feet of torque. Both hybrids come with all-wheel drive and an automatic gearbox with six speeds.
The new Tucson also has a trim level called N Line that adds sporty style and suspension tuning but doesn’t make the car more powerful. It’s unclear if Hyundai will give an N Line version of the 2025 Tucson or release a more powerful N version that can compete with other small SUVs focusing on speed.
Release Date and Price
The 2025 Hyundai Tucson should go on sale in Europe early in 2024. Other areas will follow later that same year. The US version of the SUV is expected to come out sometime in the middle of 2024. Prices will be announced closer to the launch date. For the 2019 Tucson, the base SE trim level costs $28,950, and the top-of-the-line Limited trim level costs $39,150. The 2025 Tucson will be about the same price-wise, with some small rises based on trim level and options.
The 2025 Hyundai Tucson is turning out to be a great small SUV with a new look, a modern cabin, and fuel-efficient engine choices. Honda CR-V, Toyota RAV4, Ford Escape, Mazda CX-5, and Volkswagen Tiguan are just a few of the cars that compete with it. But it has enough charm and value to stand out in this crowded market.
